Qualitative Paper Filters are pure filter papers made of almost 100 % alpha cellulose and are primarely used for clearing and retention of particles for further analysis of the filtrate. Typically ash conten app. 0.06%. Quantitative Paper Filters are made of 100 % alpha cellulose, double acid washed and neutralized. These filters have a very low content of ash, app. 0.01 %. Used for gravimetric analysis and prior to analysis with instruments. Technical Paper Filters made of cotton cellulose or chemical treated pulp or a mix of both. Used for less critical analysis and in the industry.
